To celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary in August, Bern and I had a five course Kobe Beef dinner at a restaurant in Tokyo called 511.
Kobe beef is the creme de la creme of the steak world. Originally I thought that kobe is a step above wagyu, but found out that kobe is just a type of wagyu where the cows come from the Kobe region of Japan. 511 is one of just a handful of restaurants in Tokyo where you can eat the real deal kobe beef so it's no surprise that it was also one of the most expensive meals we've ever eaten; but it was seriously worth every penny! Every bite just melts in your mouth, almost like eating the fatty part of the steak but it's not. These pictures can't do the meal justice...

This was probably a once in a lifetime experience, but being married to Bern is an experience of a lifetime so why not splurge a little?! Happy Anniversary!
